Perched on a hill in the middle of a very urban landscape surrounded by freeways, the
John Muir House is an oasis of calm and beauty. Now a National Historic Site, the two homes on the property serve as museums, and the gardens, meadows and orchards are a wonderful place to sketch and stroll.

When I visited the fruit trees were in full bloom and everything was green.
