Couscous and Concert

We were able to sketch at this year's celebration at Sahara Import on Piedmont Avenue in Oakland. Each year they invite the community to join them for a couscous dinner and wonderful Moroccan music. The store is full of very sketchable  treasures and the party, the musicians and the owner's very generous hospitality made it a wonderful event. _ Cathy McAuliffe

SAHARA, Too

Mostafa, owner of Sahara Imports
Thank you, Mostafa for your generosity and warm reception. As we enjoyed Moroccan food and mint tea in tulip glasses, we drew the color, music, and affection swirling around us. A very enjoyable celebration!

SAHARA on Piedmont Avenue

We went to a great party the other night at Sahara, a Moroccan import store on Piedmont Avenue in Oakland.  Mostafa, the owner, was hosting a couscous dinner for his friends and customers with great Moroccan music, dancing, mint tea and baklava.  The best part was the warm hospitality of all the hosts and hostesses at the event.  Thanks, Mostafa!

Sahara Moroccan Home Decor

During the April 2015 Piedmont Avenue Stroll in Oakland (3rd Thursday evening of the month), Sahara Moroccan Home Decor hosted musicians and served mint tea and delicious sweets amid the colorful displays of Berber jewelry, carpets, mosaic tables, pottery, lanterns and other artistic imports.
