Asian Art Museum, S.F.

I went with some sketching friends to the Asian Art Museum today.  The museum was quite full of patrons because both the exhibit of Japanese art loaned by Larry Ellison and the exhibit of the Cyrus Cylinder from ancient Babylon were ending, so I drew in other galleries.

The building itself, formerly the S. F. Public Library which was reopened as the museum in 2003, is beautiful, a blend of beaux art elements and modern touches by Gae Aulenti, the Italian architect who designed the Musee d'Orsay in Paris.
