Flowerland on a Lazy Afternoon

How enjoyable to sketch at Flowerland on a Fall afternoon with a delicious cappuccino at my side, two other Urban Sketchers present and lovely plants all around.

Loved sketching at Victory Point Board Game Café in Berkeley, joined by fellow sketcher Faraaz Farshori from Hyderbad, India.  I focused on a father and his daughter and son spending several hours playing "Twilight Imperium" - sketched the playing board and "The Nekro Virus" - Judith Heller.

Cato's Ale House Sketching

I too enjoyed sketching the "man with the porkpie hat" and sat at a table with initials and designs carved directly into the table and the welcome sign was quite welcoming!

UC Gill Tract Community Farm

According to the website:   “Occupy the Farm, a movement to “take back” the land under development at the Gill Tract and establish a community farm, began in April 2012.   During this three-week encampment with over 200 activists, 15,000 seedlings were planted.  As of 2015, approximately 18,500 pounds of produce was grown and distributed to the surrounding community.”

I sat down in the medicinal garden circle and drew sections of a Fire Wheel Bush used medicinally and to attract hummingbirds and the Wild Dagga Lion's Tail plant, usage sacred.

Cathy provided construction paper & glue, the "Big Pumpkin Espresso" shop was closed for business.

I was drawn to the Mock Turtle figure from Alice in Wonderland with tears falling down his cheek.

Sketched in Cathy's backyard and I choose a Buddha statue with the thick trunks of a wisteria plant wrapping around her deck post.  Bees we're buzzing and it actually was a warm Spring evening in Berkeley (no fog).

Our group met at IKEA and I started sketching in the restaurant because I was hungry!  Sonja came along, sitting in front of me so I sketched her sketching.
